I have noticed an unsettling trend in the workplace. Leadership is totally lacking. I mean, really dude, where is the slew of incompetent people coming from?
Now I have never been a manager nor do I know first hand what one has to deal with. I am also not telling anyone how to do their jobs by what I am saying.
I will say, however, that it honestly does not matter your experience or the level of education you have. Someone of a managerial position should at the least know how to manage.
Yes, that was simple. Right? Evidently not.
I mean, really dude. A manager is a person whom leads at all times through actions and speech. They also give their team positive re-enforcement without overexerting their power. Being able to take charge in stressful moments and be a driving force to get the job done are also key qualities. Never being dishonest to their team or whom the team serves is very important too.
These are just a few. Most managerial qualities are common sense. Sadly common sense is not common.
I mean, really dude. I know that I may be babbling and I’m sorry if it comes across that way. I just wish there were more people to lead and less following. And when I say lead, I mean lead because a person just has those qualities to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Is that so hard to ask? Maybe. I still hold out that it’ll get better. One day people will become managers and things of that nature by their true character and not by their Bachelor’s degree.
What do y’all think? Am I being too judgemental?
