This morning I had planned to indulge in a good book I’ve been wanting to read for a while and figured this was the perfect time to do so.
Before I could crack the book open, the neighbors behind me started with their loud music. Typical! Blocking it out, I continued, beginning to get into the story but then my phone alerts started going off.
At first, I ignored them. Considering the amount of emails, tweets and posts that run through my phone per day, I accredited it to the norm.
And then my significant other says, “You won’t believe this but West Philly is trending on Twitter.” My response, “You can’t be serious!”
Living in West Philly, I immediately looked into it, thinking that maybe something major had happened.
It was people representing and trashing the section of Philadelphia. It was so dumb and so hilarious that I had to get in on it and knock these Philly cats down a peg.
If you aren’t from Philly you won’t understand my irritation and need to say something. However, if you are, you get it.
Personally, I looked at it as a sign that I wasn’t supposed to read and I was supposed to be my typical sarcastically funny self. I mean, really dude, West Philly SHOULD NOT BE TRENDING!!!
