A Right To Kill?

Amidst the mayhem and scandal behind the killing of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin has come many questions and concerns from within my mind.

So, the fact that the police operator specifically told George Zimmerman, the man behind the shooting, to not follow or engage the teen he was calling about, yet he was not immediately arrested. I mean, really dude?

There are many who are saying Trayvon’s murder was an act of self defense on the part of Zimmerman. I mean, really dude? How was Zimmerman defending himself by following Martin? Don’t forget that the police operator told him not to.

Regardless, folks have been pro and con to the actions of Zimmerman. Some say that he was highly justified and others say that he should be punished to the highest extent of the law. Many are in the middle saying that while Mr. Zimmerman is obviously in the wrong he should not be prosecuted to the level of death.

I am not one to judge any one’s fate, but I will say that those who have come out in a rather negative way should be looked upon further. Politicians and high profile businessman have weighed in on the Trayvon Martin murder case and sad to say they all seem to agree with Zimmerman. I mean, really dude?

Geraldo Rivera had the audacity to accredit the hoodie that young Martin wore for the misinterpretation of the teen’s actions. I mean, really dude? So wearing a hoodie automatically makes someone guilty.

In that case I must have done some things in my life because I wear a hoodie on my ‘not so pretty’ outings to the corner store.

Zimmerman is now in jail for the crime that he committed and ironically the media is reporting about it in an almost famous way. I mean, really dude? We really need to know about what this guy is eating and doing in jail? Seriously?

Those who argue their points, one thing is for certain: A life was taken by someone who’s decision it was not to take it. Regardless of what either was wearing or what motives were had, right is right and wrong is wrong. There is nothing anyone can say to make this situation right when it has wrong written all over it.

I know I haven’t added all the information about the case but we all know that adding would just cause me to keep saying, I mean, really dude?
